Wild and untamed is the soul of the Huntress. The wind pulls at her hair as she bounds across the knolls of knee high grasses growing on hallowed ground. To walk in her path is to bask in scattered morning light, to fill your lungs with the scent of coastal gales, and witness the storied traditions of a landscape rooted in magic and majesty.
This is the journey that awaits you on the Huntress Retreat at Langdon Court Manor. We are thrilled to announce that the Huntress Retreat makes its return in Fall 2024, and this time we set sail for London and the English moors of Devon to the home of longtime friends of The Huntress, Donna Ida Thornton and Robert Walton MBE. As the Jean Queen of Chelsea, Donna will introduce us to the style and flare of British fashion as well as host us at their private 16th century manor house, Langdon Court. The expertly restored property is home to sprawling gardens and enchanting rooms perfectly suited for a Huntress. And only a five minute drive from the coast, it is a seaside masterpiece that promises a once in a lifetime experience.
At The Huntress, we believe in the sacred stories rooted on old world grounds. While on the hunt for our retreats, we search for rare settings steeped in ceremony and which echo the tales of a time before time. For the Fall 2024 Huntress Retreat, we chose Langdon Court Manor for its centuries old history as well as the tranquil scenery it offers.
After a full day and night of antiquing and private visits throughout London, we will journey by first-class train to Langdon Court where we will spend three nights. The three-hour trip from London will take place in a Pullman Car where lunch is served in the midst of captivating views of the English landscape.
Alongside her culinary connoisseur husband, Donna will take us on a tour of the expertly restored property that boasts sprawling gardens, a remarkable private art collection, invite us into a world filled with exquisite meals, guided meditations, and visits to local antique markets.
Days spent at Langdon Court will be filled with afternoon tea, bespoke denim appointments with Donna Ida, and leisurely strolls in the David Austin Rose Garden. Afternoons will take us on adventures antiquing in Ashburton and meeting local artisans. After the sun has set, expect evenings of fireside dinners accompanied candlelit tarot readings, and film screenings where we will wear pajamas designed by Donna Ida.
